Spreadsheet Server v24.2 Feature Enhancements
Title |
Description |
---|---|
Query Designer UI |
This release introduces an improved user interface for the Query Designer, enhancing efficiency and maintaining consistency with Spreadsheet Server’s Excel functions. |
Message Box |
Spreadsheet Server now uses an updated message box to show information, warnings, and errors throughout the application. |
GEXD Formula |
When executing a GEXD formula, the application retains columns without data. Empty columns are not overwritten for cell, range, or table target types. |
Locate Segment |
When using query formulas, you can now filter by HSegment ad hocs using the Locate Segment function. By default, it uses the HSegment file associated with the profile. |
Spreadsheet Connect |
To use the Spreadsheet Connect function, you must now select the Enable Beta Features check box in the Spreadsheet Server Settings panel. This feature is no longer available by default. |
Version |
The About tab in Spreadsheet Server Settings, Query Designer Settings, and Application Configurator Settings now displays whether you are using the Legacy or Platform version of the application. |
Logs |
This version creates a separate log file for each user in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\insightsoftware\Spreadsheet Server Suite\Logs to address any logging delays with large database files. |
Performance |
The Spreadsheet Server installer and the Register Addin app now place the SSServer.xll OPEN entry at the top of the list of Excel add-ons in the Registry Editor. This adjustment resolves any issues related to opening Spreadsheet Server in Excel. |
Performance |
The InstalledPath and AcceptedEula settings have been moved from the DotNetSecurity and PersonalSettings files to the registry for effective management. |
Performance |
This update enhances performance by implementing a subscriber-based architecture for Designer GL GXL formulas, avoiding unnecessary calculations of non-GXL formulas. To enable this new GXL function, set the UserObserverFormula setting to True in the SSSettings file. |
Spreadsheet Server v24.2 Resolved Issues
Title |
Description |
---|---|
Distribution Manager |
To reduce the calculation time for larger workbooks, you can now uncheck the Enable full calculation option in the Distribution Manager Settings panel. |
Formula Assistant |
The Distributor Formula Assistant now functions correctly within the Word add-in. |
GEXD Formula |
|
GXL Formula |
This version resolves the issue of incorrect balances being returned for Movex customers. |
Group by Segment |
JDE users can now group by segments containing an @ field in the summary drill down results panel. |
Context Menu |
The Spreadsheet Server context menu (right-click menu) now functions correctly when the Excel Page Break Preview mode is active. |
Formula Builder |
If the JDE security is required for this configuration checkbox is selected while adding the JDE connection in Application Configurator > Application Settings, Spreadsheet Server will not retrieve data in Excel unless the user’s Application User Name is listed in JDE security. |
Query Designer |
Users can successfully export records to Excel and PDF from the Result Viewer panel after executing queries. |
Distribution Manager |
This version resolves the following issues encountered with the Distribution Manager:
|
Profile Scheduler |
The Profile Scheduler successfully distributes reports at the scheduled time. Spreadsheet Server automatically logs into SAP, ensuring that the generated reports include the updated data. |
Query Designer |
This release resolves the database connection issue related to the connection string configuration that Epicor customers encountered within Query Designer. As a result, users can now successfully view tables and run queries. |
Drill Down |
When drilling down on a GXL formula, all the configured account segments now appear correctly in the Drill Down panel. There are no missing segments, allowing users to successfully perform both first and second-level drill down functions. |
GXE Formula |
This release resolves the issue of Excel becoming unresponsive when executing a GXE formula. Users can now successfully execute the GX formula with the target type set to row, table, or range. |
Performance |
The option to clear cache and recalculate when Excel starts has been removed from the Spreadsheet Server Settings panel to resolve performance degradation issues. |
Performance |
The compatibility issue encountered with Excel 2016 32-bit is resolved, ensuring smoother performance for legacy users. |
Performance |
The PersonalSettings file copies over correctly to a user’s AppData folder, ensuring that the formulas and reports run without any issues. |
Performance |
Users will no longer experience Excel freezing or PC slowdowns when drilling down into a formula. |
AI Doc Assist |
Spreadsheet Server updated the doc assist chat window’s default size to fix the width issue. |
Formula Builder |
Users with a DSN connection to the ComputerEase database can now use partial wildcard and range syntax to retrieve account segments in GXL formulas without any errors. |
Formula Builder |
In v24.2, Formula Builder accurately loads account segments, displays designer GLs in the Source field, and enables users to drill down into formulas by establishing a successful connection to the Lawson database. |
Drill Down |
In this version, the second-level drill down no longer converts the KEY2 value to lower case. Lawson and Viewpoint ERP users can drill down to journal from within the Drill Down panel, rather than solely from the ribbon. |
Drill Down |
This version resolves the issue related to expanding GL rows and drilling down on GXL balances for SAP users. The application now correctly identifies the number of account segments for different ledgers during the drill down process. |
Drill Down |
SAP users can adjust the Drill Down Timeout field in the Spreadsheet Server Settings panel based on data volume to ensure successful drill down actions for the CO ledger. It is recommended to set the timeout to 60 seconds. |
Settings UI |
The Enable Beta Features checkbox in the Spreadsheet Server Settings panel provides users access to the new interface for all the settings panels. v24.2 resolves the following issues associated with the new UI.
|
Application Configurator |
When setting up a new SAP connection in the Application Settings tab, the Connection Type drop-down list now defaults to SAP NetCo 3.0 and not Legacy SAP GUI. |
Performance |
This version resolves the performance issue related to longer report processing times for SAP users. The issue was traced back to the Task Limit setting in the DotNetSecurity file, which by default matches the number of logical processors on the user’s machine. |
