Preview Field Data

Query Designer allows for previewing data available for selected fields. This feature is helpful to determine the proper field(s), or selection criteria to be used in the query. The Limit Get Values to nnn Records option in Query Designer Settings determines the maximum number of records retrieved.

Preview Data for Selected Field(s) Not Yet Added to the Query

From the Query Canvas, select the desired field(s) from the table, right-click, then select Preview Field Data. The Result Viewer panel appears, displaying data for the selected field(s).

Note: This feature does not function for image-type fields.

Tip: To print directly from Result Viewer, right-click the desired field, and select Export to > Print.

Preview Data for Selected Field(s) Already Added to the Query

From the Field List panel, selected the desired field(s), right-click, then select Preview Field Data. The Result Viewer panel appears, displaying data for the selected field(s).

Note: This feature does not function for calculated or image type fields, nor when fields from multiple tables are selected.

Tip: Right-click the column header to select all cells in Result Viewer.
