Spreadsheet Server Ribbon

Once you install the Spreadsheet Server Suite and initiate the Excel add-in, use the Spreadsheet Server ribbon to access and process the functions in the application.

Description

Recalc

Recalculates all the formulas in the current workbook. From the drop-down, you can choose to recalculate formulas for a workbook, worksheet, specific selection, and so on.

Data Refresh

Removes all records in cache and recalculates the formulas in the current workbook. From the drop-down, you can choose to refresh all the sheets of every workbook, every sheet in the current workbook, active sheet, or selected data.

Execute Reports

Generates detailed reports for all GXE, GEXD, and GPXD formulas in the workbook. From the drop-down, you can choose to generate all or selected reports for specific formulas and the account detail report for the current sheet.

Drill Down

Opens the Drill Down panel, worksheet, or Parameter Selector panel based on the formula selected in the cell and the default drill down action configured in Spreadsheet Server Settings. From the drop-down, you can choose to perform different levels of drill down, like drill down to journals from detailed account balances and then to a selected ad hoc, and also view the drill down results in a separate worksheet.

Summary Drill Down

Opens the Summary Drill Down panel that allows you to select the account segments to use for grouping and summarizing the account balances that make up the single GXL value. From the drop-down, you can choose to skip the selection of the segments when performing this action.

Expand GL Row

Expands the balances of selected GXL formulas in a row into account details. From the drop-down, you can choose to expand the balance based on selected segments and expand all the balances in the current worksheet.

Collapse GL Row

Collapses all the rows in the selected expanded section. From the drop-down, you can choose to collapse expanded rows in the current worksheet or workbook.

Expand Segment

Expands the details of each segment in the selected segment value, replacing the original record with GXL formulas equal to the number of segments in the expansion. From the drop-down, you can choose to collapse the expanded segments.

Hide Rows

Hides any zero value rows that are a part of the GXL or GEXQ formulas in the worksheet. From the drop-down, you can choose to hide these rows in the current worksheet or workbook.

Restore Rows

Restores the zero value rows in the worksheet. From the drop-down, you can choose to restore these rows in the current worksheet or workbook.

Formula Builder

Opens the Formula Builder panel that allows you to set specific parameters and run the GL, query, and business view formulas.

Query Designer

Opens the Query Designer application that allows you to design, maintain, and run queries.

Lookup

Opens the Parameter Selector panel for the selected query. This serves as a shortcut to the panel that allows you to select the values to return to the sheet.

Query

Opens the Query panel for the selected query or SAP T-Code. This serves as a shortcut to set the parameters and execute queries in the panel.

Segment Lists

Opens the Segment List Maintenance panel that allows you to create and maintain segment lists that work as a hierarchy of individual segments to use in a GXL formula. From the drop-down menu, you can choose to refresh cached segment lists.

Locate Segment

Opens the Locate Segment panel that displays the valid values, @ fields, or hierarchy values for each account segment. From the drop-down menu, you can choose to refresh cached segment lists.

Tools

  • Convert SS Formulas - Allows you to convert Spreadsheet Server formulas to values.
  • Custom Layouts - Allows you to modify the output when generating the GEXD or GPXD formula in Excel,
  • Data Validation - Allows you to create a validation list that includes a valid list of options or field values in a specific cell in Excel.
  • Disconnect All Open Connections - Disconnects all open connections for Spreadsheet Server and queries.
  • Fix Broken Links - Corrects all the broken links to the XLL in the workbook.
  • Upgrade Workbook - Allows you to convert various legacy formulas to the revised Spreadsheet Server formulas.
  • View Cache - Opens the Local Cache or Global Cache panel displaying the cache records.
  • File Refresh - Clears and rebuilds the memory of all stored items.
  • Convert BizInsight/XLC Formulas - Allows Biznet customers to convert BizSuperFunc formulas to .edq files and subsequently use the GEXQ formula in Spreadsheet Server.
  • Select Responsibility - Allows Oracle ledger users to identify the default responsibility for GXL formulas unless the value is overridden in the formula. This function requires you to select Oracle Default Responsibility during sign on.

Settings

Opens the Spreadsheet Server Settings panel that allows you to define various criteria to control processes in the application.

Enable/Disabled

Enables or disables the Spreadsheet Server ribbon when toggled.

View Log

Opens the Log Viewer that displays the actions performed in the application, logging information for events like building and using queries, scheduling or running jobs, and so on. From the drop-down menu, you can choose to clear the logs or turn on/off the logging.

Check For Updates

Checks for the latest available version and allows you to upgrade the installed applications. This is only available to Platform customers.

Distribute

Distributes all the specifications in the workbook via the set process. From the drop-down menu, you can choose to distribute selected specifications, clone the worksheet, or convert the formulas to values and clone the worksheet.

New Control Sheet

Opens the Create distribution control worksheet panel that allows you to create and configure a new distribution control worksheet.

Maintain Specs

Opens the Maintain specifications panel where you can define the distribution options.

Settings

Allows you to configure distribution manager settings.

Spreadsheet Connect

Opens the Add Spreadsheet Connect Data panel that allows you to use Spreadsheet Server with any data table in Excel. From the drop-down menu, you can then choose to view the data and create EXL formulas.

In v24.2 and higher, this option is only available when you select the Enable Beta Features checkbox in theSpreadsheet Server Settings panel.

Export Data

Opens the Export Range panel that allows Platform Data Sharing customers to build a CSV file in Excel and export the data to Angles to create new business views.

AI Doc Assist

Opens the doc assist chatbot that answers any questions related to Spreadsheet Server processes. This is only available to Platform customers.
