Allow a Job to Run While Logged Off

Note: The following steps are insightsoftware's solution to run Profile Scheduler jobs while logged out; however, the ability to run Excel as a user that is not logged in is not officially supported by Microsoft, and it is discouraged. For more information, see Microsoft Support: Considerations for Server-side Automation of Office, here.

  1. Ensure the folder C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Desktop exists. If it does not exist, create it.
  2. Ensure the folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\Desktop exists. If it does not exist, create it.
  3. Clear Profile Scheduler logs.
  4. Re-run Profile Scheduler.

If the process is not successful, contact insightsoftware and submit the latest log.
