Add a New Host Configuration for Infinium

The following General Ledger application settings apply to all users licensed when using an Infinium General Ledger type, whether processing the General Ledger, Query, Query Designer or Spreadsheet Writeback feature. This article describes how to add a new Host configuration.

  1. From the Application Configurator panel, select the Application Settings tab. The Application Settings panel appears.
  2. Click the Infinium tab.
  3. To create a new host configuration, from the ribbon, click the New button, The system adds a new host configuration in the navigation pane, and the Infinium > Host Configuration panel appears.
  4. Use the following table to enter data in the Infinium > Host Configuration panel:

    Description

    Connection Type

    Click the drop-down list, and, select the appropriate connection type. The selected connection type determines the fields available in the panel.

    Data Provider

    Specify whether using OLEDB or ODBC for connectivity.

    Host Name/IP Address

    Specify the server name or IP address.

    User Name

    Specify the user ID to be used to connect to the database. Click the ellipses button ( ... ) to insert the <SIGN-ON> literal in the field, indicating to use the specified user ID, when the user signs into Spreadsheet Server.

    Note: If unattended sign in is being used, the user ID must be specified (<SIGN-ON> cannot be used).

    Password

    Specify the user password.

    Query Designer Libraries

    Specify the libraries which may be used in Query Designer.

    Exclude TXPJNO field from Journal Drill Down

    If selected, the TXPJNO field is not used when drilling down to journals. This option should be selected if using an older version of Infinium, where the TXPJNO field does not exist.

    Infinium security is required for this configuration

    If selected, the security data setup in Infinium is used for the host configuration.

    Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

    If selected, SSL encryption is used for all data sent between the client and the server.

    Infinium User ID

    Specify the user ID to be used for testing security.

    Test Security

    Specify the desired testing values, then click Test Security. A message appears in the Results field, indicating whether or not the connection was successful, and displays the security settings for the selected user.

    Test Configuration

    Displays a message in the Results field, indicating whether or not the connection and the call to the files was successful.

  6. Use the following table to enter data in the Infinium > Business Files panel:

    Default Library Name

    Specify the default library name of the Infinium business data.

    File Name/File Description/ Library Name

    Displays the Infinium business files used in Spreadsheet Server. If any of the listed files reside outside the default library, override the <DEFAULT> code, and enter the appropriate library name. To reset to the default, click the field and leave it blank.

    Displays a message in the Results field indicating whether or not the connection and the call to tables was successful.

  8. Use the following table to enter data in the Infinium > Security Files panel:

    Default Library Name

    Specify the default library name of the Infinium security data.

    File Name/File Description/ Library Name

    Displays the Infinium security files used in Spreadsheet Server. If any of the listed files reside outside of the default library, override the <DEFAULT> code and enter the appropriate library name. To reset the default, click on the field and leave it blank.

    Connect to an alternate host for security files

    If selected, indicates to connect to a different host for the Infinium security files. When selected, additional input fields (Connection Type, Data Provider, Host Name/IP Address, User ID, Password, and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)) are enabled, for entering alternate host connection data.

  10. Click Save, then Yes, to push the changes to the network location.
