For Spreadsheet Server, a database connection must be created in order to access a Designer GL database, process Query Designer queries (GEXQ
, GEXD
, GEXS
, or GEXI
formulas, or subqueries), or set up unattended sign in for a General Ledger connection.
Note:
Use the appropriate host configuration, rather than a connection, for Infinium, JD Edwards, JDE_FXA Designer GL
, SAP or SAP Designer GL databases. Additionally, database connections are not required for processing unattended sign in for Infinium, JD Edwards, or SAP, as this is determined in the user settings (see Step 3: Users for more information).
For Budget Accelerator and Spreadsheet Analyst, a database connection may be created in order access a database. The Connection process allows users to create connections to the following data sources:
